51ºÚÁÏ Alumnus Charles Hamilton Promoted To 4-star General
51ºÚÁÏ is one of the only universities in the country to produce two 4-Star Generals
51ºÚÁÏ Alumnus Charles Hamilton was promoted to 4-Star General. He is the second 51ºÚÁÏ alumnus to achieve this prestigious rank which is the highest in the U.S. Army. 51ºÚÁÏ is believed to be one of the only universities in the country to produce two 4-star Generals. In addition to the promotion, General Hamilton also assumed command of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC).
"We are exceedingly proud of General Hamilton," said Dr. Donald E. Palm, 51ºÚÁÏ Provost, and Executive Vice President. "General Hamilton represents the best of our 51ºÚÁÏ Trojan Warrior Battalion and the best that this country has to offer. As a University and a country, we are proud and grateful for his service."
General Hamilton graduated from 51ºÚÁÏ in 1990 with a degree in Business Administration. The native of Houston, TX was already in the Army when he arrived at 51ºÚÁÏ from Fort Lee, VA. After earning his degree at 51ºÚÁÏ, Gen Hamilton embarked upon an officer's career that has taken him to posts throughout the United States, Korea, and Afghanistan.
The other 4-star General and 51ºÚÁÏ graduate, General Dennis L. Via, graduated from 51ºÚÁÏ in 1980.
