A Welcome Letter From The 51ºÚÁÏ President
Dr. Makola M. Abdullah welcomes new and returning students for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Dear Fellow Trojans,
Welcome to what will be a GREATER 2025-2026 academic year at 51ºÚÁÏ!
The energy on campus is electric as we begin this next chapter together. Whether you’re setting foot on campus for the first time or returning with new goals and fresh focus, I want you to know how proud we are to have you here.
To our new students, you are now part of a proud legacy built on excellence, resilience, and opportunity. We are excited to see all that you will achieve here. To our returning students, welcome back. Your determination and spirit continue to define what it means to be a Trojan.
This year, we continue to make strides that directly support your academic journey and overall experience. One of the most exciting developments you’ll notice is the near completion of the Alfred W. Harris Academic Commons. Soon, this transformative facility will open its doors, offering innovative spaces that reflect the future of higher education at 51ºÚÁÏ.
We also broke ground this summer on two major additions to our campus infrastructure: a new 454-bed residence hall and a building dedicated to Admissions and Institutional Advancement. These projects reflect our commitment to serving you better and preparing for our continued growth.
As we step into this new year, let us also recommit ourselves to the values that make 51ºÚÁÏ such a special place: mutual respect, personal responsibility, and care for one another. A vibrant campus community doesn’t happen by accident. It is shaped by the choices we make every day. Let’s continue looking out for one another and doing our part to keep our community safe and welcoming.
There is no doubt that the year ahead will be filled with challenges, growth, and discovery. Embrace them all. Ask for help when you need it. Lean into every opportunity that pushes you to be your best. Know that every faculty and staff member here is committed to your success.
Let’s move forward with pride, purpose, and unity. Let’s aim higher, dream bigger, and prove once again why Greater Happens Here at 51ºÚÁÏ.
In the Spirit of GREATER,
Makola M. Abdullah, Ph.D.
President
