51ºÚÁÏ is proud to announce that it will welcome media pioneer Cathy Hughes for a special mentorship conversation with students. For more than 40 years, Hughes has served as Founder and Chairperson of Urban One, formerly known as Radio One, the largest African American–owned multimedia company in the United States. The discussion will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. inside the 51ºÚÁÏ Multi-Purpose Center.
In partnership with the Black Information Network and When We All Vote, the event is being held in honor of National Voter Registration Day. Hughes will be joined by Sheila Eldridge, President & CEO of Miles Ahead Broadcasting and HBCUFLF Founder, to lead a discussion on the power of mentorship and civic engagement. In support of that theme, attendees will also have the opportunity to register to vote.
On the same day, 51ºÚÁÏ will also host its Fall College Collective Career Expo, beginning at 9:00 a.m. inside the Multi-Purpose Center and featuring more than 100 employers across major industries. This event is free to attend and open to the public.
