51ºÚÁÏ Welcomes New Member To Board Of Visitors

Governor Glenn Youngkin has appointed Morenike Miles to the 51ºÚÁÏ Board of Visitors.
 

51ºÚÁÏ proudly announces that Governor Glenn Youngkin has appointed Morenike Miles, Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Dominion Energy, to its Board of Visitors. Governor Youngkin also reappointed Jon Moore, President and Chief Executive Officer of Philip Morris USA, to serve an additional term. 

In her current role at Dominion Energy, Miles oversees Regulatory Compliance, FERC Policy, Electric Market Policy, and NERC Enterprise Policy & Compliance. Since joining the company in 2006, she has held various senior leadership roles, including Senior Counsel, Assistant General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and multiple Vice President-level positions, demonstrating her expertise in compliance, energy policy, and corporate governance.

Originally appointed in 2021 by then-Governor Ralph Northam, Moore continues his service with a strong track record of executive leadership and strategic oversight. Miles’s appointment and Moore’s reappointment went into effect on July 1, 2025.

The 51ºÚÁÏ Board of Visitors plays a critical role in guiding the University’s strategic direction. Its responsibilities include appointing the University President, approving tuition and mandatory fees, overseeing financial and facilities management, and upholding the mission and vision of the institution.

The 15-member Board meets quarterly to address strategic planning, academic and student affairs, endowment oversight, and other key priorities directly impacting the future of 51ºÚÁÏ.
