51ºÚÁÏ addresses a recent tragic incident that occurred near the main campus over the weekend.
Dear Trojan Family, Parents, and Community Members,
The 51ºÚÁÏ community was deeply affected by a tragic incident that occurred late Saturday night outside the secured, gated area of the main campus, in a parking lot that adjoins two public streets near the 51ºÚÁÏ Multipurpose Center.
While the investigation remains ongoing, we have confirmed that neither the victim nor the alleged perpetrators are affiliated with 51ºÚÁÏ. No 51ºÚÁÏ students were involved or present when the crime occurred. 51ºÚÁÏ Police are working closely with Chesterfield County Police to assist in the ongoing investigation and to ensure the continued safety of our campus community.
We want to reassure you that the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff remain our top priority. 51ºÚÁÏ Police maintain a 24-hour presence on campus, conduct frequent patrols, and continue to partner with local law enforcement agencies to uphold a safe and secure environment.
Although the incident took place outside the secured gated area of the main campus and involved individuals not affiliated with 51ºÚÁÏ, this event serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of safety and community vigilance. I urge every member of our Trojan Family to remain alert, look out for one another, and immediately report any suspicious activity to the 51ºÚÁÏ Police Department at (804) 524-5411.
